Davis Invitational Results

Congratulations to Cole Lambourne for another "Athlete of the Meet" award at the Davis Invite!  He took 1st place in both the 400m  and the 200m and 4th place in the 100m.  In addition, he was part of the 1st place 4x400m team.

There are no team scores for the Davis Invite but there were some great individual performances and PRs.

School Records:

• Kenneth "the Jet" Smith took over 2nd place in the 3200m with a time of 9:39.08.
• Brady Early bettered his own 4th place record in the 3200 with a time of 9:54.51.
• McKayla Morgan bettered her own school record in the 3200m with a time of 11:39.07 and also bettered her own 2nd place time in the 1600m with a time of 5:24.70.

State Qualifiers:

• The girls 4x100m team qualified for state.
• Kenny "the Jet" Smith qualified for state in the 3200m with a time of 9:39.08.

Upcoming Davis Invitational

The Davis Invitational is this Saturday (April 28).  The format for this invite is that the top 8-18 athletes for each event compete in the seeded section in the afternoon.  The next 35-60 athletes are invited to compete in the open section in the morning.  For a complete event schedule as well as the list of accepted athletes, click here.

Taylorsville Invitational

What an awesome job once again by the RHS track and field team!  Riverton won the Invitational with a combined score of 218 while the next closest competitor got 142.5 points .  The boys took first and the girls took third.  For a complete list of results check here.  There were a lot of PRs, school records, and even a meet record!  In addition, once again Cole Lambourne was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the meet. 

Meet Record
The girls 4x400 team of Natalie Haymore, Alexis Jackson, Bre Bate, and Courtney Paddock set a new meet record with a time of 3:59.85.

School Records
Joni Warnick set a new school record in the javelin with a throw of 136'02.5".
McKayla Morgan bettered her own 3200m school record with a time of 11:41.47.
Kenneth "the Jet" Smith bettered his own 3rd place 3200m school record with a time of 9:41.96.
Brady Earley took over 4th place in the 3200m with a time of 9:56.13.
The boys 4x100 team of Joey Jenson, Clay Lambourne, Brandon Walker, and Michael Bluth  took over 4th place with a time of 43.14.
Courtney Paddock took over 2nd place in the 400m with a time of 56.78.
Clay Lambourne took over 4th place in the 400m with a time of 50.37.
Tanner Egbert bettered his own 5th place record in the 800 m with a time of 2:02.18.
Courtney Paddock bettered her own 4th place record in the 200m with a time of 25.73.
Cole Lambourne bettered his own 200m 2nd place record with a time of 21.83.
The 4x400 team that set the meet record (above) took over 3rd place.
Chelsea Taylor took over 5th place on the high jump with a jump of 5'02".
Joey Jensen took over 4th place with a 21'08" long jump.
Miller Crawford took over 5th place with a discus throw of 155'02".

State Qualifiers
The boys 4x100m relay team of Joey Jensen, Clay Lambourne, Brandon Walker, and Michael Bluth met the qualifying time for State.
Courtney Paddock qualified in the 200m.
Clay Lambourne qualified for state in the 400m
The girls 4x400m relay team of Natalie Haymore, Lexi Jackson, Bre Bate, and Courtney Paddock qualified.
Joey Jenson qualified in the long jump.
Chelsea Taylor qualified in the high jump.
Peyton Christensen qualified in the shot put.
Crystal Palmer and Anna Davidson qualified in the javelin throw.

UVU Invitational

The combined scores of the RHS girls' and boys' put them in 3rd place overall at Saturday's UVU Invitational. The girls took 4th overall and the boys took 5th.

Notable performances:

• Courtney Paddock took 1st in both the 400m and the 200m races. Her 400m finish of 57.61 moved her up to 3rd place overall on the RHS school record and her 200m finish of 25.86 bettered her own 4th place overall school record.
• Kenneth Smith took 2nd overall in the 3200m with a time of 9:50.06. This was a PR for Kenneth by 11 seconds and moved him up to 3rd place overall on the RHS school records.
• Dallon Fuell's high jump of 6'0" put him at 4th place overall on the RHS school records and gave him a 7th place finish at the invitational.
• Joni Warnick took 1st in the javelin with a throw of 118'9.25".
• The girls' 4x400m relay team took 1st.

ARCADIA!!!

Awesome, amazing job by the 4x400m relay team of Michael Bluth, Brandon Walker, Clay Lambourne, and Cole Lambourne at the Arcadia Invitational in Arcadia, CA over the Easter weekend! They took 2nd overall and blew out the RHS school record with a time of 3:20.04! Here is a link to the video of their race .

Cole and Michael also competed in the 400m race with Cole taking 5th overall. He set a new school record (improving on his own previous record) with a time of 48.25. Michael took 20th overall and bettered his own 3rd place overall school record with a time of 49.53.

UHSCTA 2012 Championships

Wow! Awesome job by the RHS boys in taking 1st on Saturday! They edged out Davis by 13 points! The girls also did a good job taking 3rd place overall.

Joni Warnick bettered her own 2nd place all-time record in the javelin with a throw of 126'7" and Michael Bluth improved his own 3rd place overall record in the 400m with a time of 50.26.

Miller Crawford won both the discus and the shot put. Cole Lambourne won the 200m and the 400m. Courtney Paddock won the 400m. In addition, both the boys' and the girls' 4x400 relay teams took 1st.
